Looking again at lies

     After one of our students read the old tale, “How the Sahara came to be” and then played the “adventure game” she wrote the following: 

I READ both stories and realized that there is no such thing as a small lie or a good lie. I just now understood this story. [She read it a second time.] It all started with a small lie and then became so great that even a small grain of sand could turn everywhere into a desert.
     Lying is a bad thing. It does not matter if it is small or big, we should avoid lying for our own happiness. We should talk about a problem with the other side and solve the problem. If the other side gets angry with us, we still should not lie. And, finally, thanks for these beautiful stories.  — S. F.
