The best worker

We are more than a little pleased to share this success story with you by The Gentle One. We couldn’t be happier for her.

ONE month ago three girls came to the shop. After their hello and greeting they said to me, “We are coming from H— Society. We’re honoring women who are working very hard as a worker or in other positions in the society. We will have a celebration for those women and you are one of them.

Last Sunday they brought an invitation card to me. Monday I went to the shop and showed the shop owner the card. I became very happy and asked the shop owner, “Please let me go to the program.”  The shop owner said, “I will let you go, but you must come to work next Sunday (usually my day off).”  I agreed because I wishing go to the celebration program.

I went to home and said to my sister-in-law, “Will you go to the celebration program with me?”  She said, “Yes, I will go.”

We went to the program by rickshaw. When we arrived, there were 30 or 40 people. But little by little, women came until the auditorium was filled. The program was started by the reading of the Holy Quran. After that, five or six teachers, principles, a government represen- tative, and the H— Society Executive Director began to speak.

They all spoke about women’s abilities, problems, kindness, self-giving, and diligence in the society. Then they started to distribute medals.

When the announcer read my name I went to the stage and they gave me a medal.  I was so happy.  Unfortunately, my sister-in-law couldn’t take my photo because her little baby boy did not let his mother take my photo.  But it was O.K.  — The Gentle One
