Freedom to pray

Shakila, seventeen, is from Afghanistan. She is a more beginner English student—but was able to make us understand her feelings very well. Ramadan, about which she writes, ends on July 17th.

I LIKE Ramada so much. I like that during Ramadan all people are praying and rich people are helping poor people. When I am praying I feel so good. My mother taught me to pray when I was 8 or 9 years old. My mother teaches me to do everything in my life.

I would tell children who do not know how to pray that when I am praying I feel that I am safe. When I pray I am feeling so happy. I am thinking that I am so close to God. It makes me so happy.
