B.I. (Before Internet)

Asia, one of our writers from Afghanistan, read a story about B.I. (the days before internet) and learned about letters, stamps, and envelopes.  After she read the story (which amazed her and actually made her a little sad) she brightened up and told her English tutor this Afghan joke.  (To read the story Asia read, click HERE.)

IN Afghanistan we have lots of funny jokes about the internet.  Here’s one, for example:

One Friend:  What did you do last night?

Second Friend:  Oh, my family and I sat around and talked with each other.

First Friend:  You did what?!  You sat with your family and talked?!

Second Friend:  Yes.  We didn’t have electricity and our cell phones weren’t charged.
