This month, the Gentle One read the classic children’s story Harold and the Purple Crayon and then wrote her own delightful version!

ONE afternoon, Raihana decided to go out and play jump rope. She didn’t have a jump rope, so she drew a jump rope. It was a hot day. She needed a tree and the tree’s shade. After that she drew a big mulberry tree.

Then she started jump roping with herself but after a few minutes she tired from being all alone. She wanted to have a friend and to play jump rope with her friend. She drew a girl and they started jump roping together. Finally, Raihana and her friend were very happy that day and they went very happily to their home.  —The Gentle One
