Story by Pelagaeya. Native language Russian.

ONCE Lewis Carroll was in Russia. One day he saw a long, interesting Russian word:  защищающихся.  It means, “people who protect themselves”. He wrote this word in his diary using English letters:

zаshchееshchауоushchееkhsуа

When I saw this word in English I started to laugh because I can’t read it!

Note to readers: The only time Lewis Carroll traveled beyond Great Britian was when he took this one trip to Russia with a friend.
