Pelagaeya read a book in English called “Frog and Toad are Friends” by Arnold Lobel. She is using that story as a model to write her own. The ideas here, and how they are expressed, are Pelagaeya’s own. You can find the entire story  HERE

CHAPTER 4:  A WALK IN THE GARDEN

ALREADY it was June.  Hopper and Chirp hopped by a flower.  Hopper said, “I love this flower very much. What is it called?”

        Chirp answered, “Forget-me-not.”

Hopper said, “I will never forget you, Chirp. But what is this flower called?”

Chirp thought that Hopper did not hear him and so he said again a little louder, “FORGET-ME-NOT, Hopper!”

Hopper said, “Chirp, I promise I will never forget you, but please tell me what this flower is called!”

Chirp answered, “This FLOWER is called Forget-me-not.”

Hopper laughed and said, “Oh, now I understand. But why is it called Forget-me-not?”

“It’s called Forget-me-not because people always forget what it is called!”
