By Yuqi whose native language is Chinese. Yuqi is in 11th grade and begins his third year of stuyding in America. Here, he takes us with him to a country he calls “magical”.

THIS summer I went to Philippines. It is a magical country, because when you are there, you feel rested. Our guide said Filipinos’ lives are very simple and happy. The thing they like to do most is listen to music and dance. They are simple and they enjoy their lives. Most Filipinos use English to converse, and they are very polite. I went to an island, swam in the ocean and walked on the beach. You can see in the pictures how clear the water is and how beautiful the beach is. The water looks like a giant mirror.

I had a wonderful time and it’s hard to forget. We were in a fancy hotel. It had a bridge that connected to the beach. We went there and took a lot of pictures. We had a great time with the enthusiastic Filipinos! I wish you could go there and find out more secrets about the Philippines!
